Compare and Contrast
My Bloody Valentine 81 & 09
My Bloody Valentine 1981 and 2009 are
two different horror stories with one common killer in common. That killer
being a pickaxe swinging minor. My Bloody Valentine 1981 had similarities to
any 80s horror movie, all the way down to the crazy local warning the kids
about throwing a party while there was a killer on the loose. My Bloody Valentine
1981 had the similar blood effects as anything in that period and had Friday
the 13th style kills. Where the My Bloody Valentine 2009 Remake had
very extreme kills as the remake of My Bloody Valentine was presented in 3D so
those extreme kills were needed to feature a good 3D movie.
The storyline to My Bloody Valentine
1981 took place 20 years after the murders that took place with the crazy miner.
Where the 2009 My Bloody Valentine remake storyline took place less than 20yrs
of the original killing. The story of the 1981 My Bloody Valentine takes place
more inside the coal mines than the story of the 2009 My Bloody Valentine
remake. There are a different set of victims per the different overall
storylines between the two movies.
If you enjoyed the 1981 My Bloody
Valentine there is no guarantee you will enjoy the 2009 My Bloody Valentine
remake. Speaking from experience, because loving the original Halloween movies I
cannot stand the Rob Zombie Halloween remakes. I overall cannot stand remakes
in general. Especially remakes of classic movies I love. If I was to suggest
one of these movies to somebody, I enjoyed the 1981 My Bloody Valentine
original in comparison to the My Bloody Valentine 2009 remake. I love 80s
horror especially regarding horror of today.
Both killers from the 1981 and 2009
My Bloody Valentine had a Jason Voorhes invincible vibe to them. That was cool.
That was something both movies had in common.
It basically just comes down to the
type of horror movie that is your personal favorite in regard to which one you
would like to watch. They have a pretty equal body count, and one is just
filmed inside a 1980s horror theme, and the other is filmed inside a more modern-day
horror film, and that includes their overall story. It just comes down to opinion
for which one a person would enjoy watching.
