Pro Wrestlers vs Zombies (2013) Film Review

Pro Wrestlers vs Zombies (2013) Film Review

In this B Horror Movie-Action Movie you will find the likes of The Franchise Shane Douglas, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Matt Hardy, Hacksaw Jim Duggin, Reby Sky, and Kurt Angle. That’s right a list of real professional wrestlers, are thrown into leading roles in Cody Knotts 2013 B Horror Movie Pro Wrestlers vs Zombies. This movie will remind you of a 1980’s or early 1990’s action movie complete with the setting being an abandoned prison.

The movie begins with The Franchise Shane Douglas catching the woman he is with too timing him with another professional wrestler backstage. Then when The Franchise faces the wrestler that night at the independent wrestling show The Franchise kills the professional wrestler who was making out with his woman backstage prior to their match.

The Franchise didn’t have long to enjoy killing the man who was messing around with his woman because the deceased wrestler’s brother immediately came out of the gate seeking his revenge for his brother’s death. The deceased man’s brother pays the character Cordy Knotts who is the villainous wrestling promoter stacks of hundreds for him to be able to hand pick the wrestlers he wants to take on his mystery opponents at the vacant prison.

Cody Knotts is impressed with the pay day that the evil wrestling promoter throws in more wrestlers than just The Franchise Shane Douglas and The Franchise’s girlfriend. Those were the only two superstars the brother of the deceased wrestler asked for to complete his evil plan. The evil mad man was pleased and then goes about using satanic powers to create a zombie army for the professional wrestlers to take on once they arrive at the battleground which as you might have guessed was at this vacant scary prison.

The movie turns into a giant gore fest. Once the wrestlers reach the prison when as the title to the movie reads Pro Wrestlers vs Zombies. The movie is a true gory rat race experience, and the gore isn’t top notch gore like from a Halloween or mainstream horror movie. The gore was cheesy, and anyone could tell that this movie lives up to everything a B Horror Movie should be. If you are a wrestling fan and enjoy B Horror Movies, even for the least as to laugh at B Horror Movies, then you should enjoy Pro Wrestlers vs Zombies even if it is just for a good laugh. A Horror Comedy is another category that this movie could be labeled.

There are funny lines that are spoke like jobbers are for dying or something to that extent. Rowdy Roddy Piper says some killer action hero lines as well. Rowdy Roddy Piper lives up to his performance in They Live when people see his performance in Pro Wrestlers vs Zombie.

This movie could be a cult classic among wrestling fans, especially if that wrestling fan is a horror fan. I will give this movie three shuttle kicks, so that is a solid C+ rating, but I will say it is worth a watch even if it is just worth a laugh but a must watch for wrestling and horror fans.

Pro Wrestlers vs Zombies is available on both Tubi and Peacock currently so you can watch this movie without having a subscription to any Streaming Service. I tried my best in this review no to give away too many spoilers and wanted to throw this Review out there as is in hope if a person reading this is a horror fan and a wrestling fan that person would take the time to venture out and view this film themselves because there is a whole lot more to this horror B movie than is mentioned here in the UNKNOWN Asylum!
